OSAMU ICHINOSE

Osamu  was the first born of Yoshigoro and Tome. She was also the only child of theirs to be born in Japan. She came to Hawaii as an infant with her parents. 


 She married Masai Honda.


She was born 6/12/1898 in Japan and

passed 3/11/1968 in Hawaii 


In the marriage certificate it shows her as Osamu Ichinose from Fukuoka Japan  with father Yoshigoro and mother Tome.


In the December 23rd 1925 edition of The Honolulu Advertiser it hints at some challenge in Osamu and Masai's marriage that seemed to be resolved.






In this 1930 farm census it shows

Masia Honda's family farm which was located near Yoshigoro's farm. It is assumed that this is where Osamu met Masai.




















In the  Honolulu Star Bulletin August 30th 1958 edition;  Samo (as she is known here) Honda and Masai become Citizens under the Japan title.

Osamu married Masai Honda on June 26 1917. Masai was 23 years old and Osamu was 18.

 

Masia Honda was born on December 7th 1894 in Kumamoto prefecture Japan. He came to Hawaii on May 21st, 1910.


Masai worked as a journalist.


In a 1950 article Masai worked for the Hawaii Herald as editor. 


A 1959 Article states that Masai was an advisor to a new newspaper called “The Weekly Times” and was a former managing editor for “Hawaii Hochi”.


Masai passed away in April of 1975

Reginald Takao Honda

Reginald was born October 20th 1916 in Hawaii and passed January 31st 1988

On June 1st 1942 Reginald married Jean Chizuko Otsubo. 


4/20/1943 a daughter Lorraine June Honda was born 


On 5/18 1945 Takao and Chizuko officially changed their names to  Reginal Takao Honda and Jean Chizuko Honda


5/18/1946 Advertisment shows Reginald as manager of Kaiulani Market in Honolulu, King street


11/27/1946 a daughter Leslie Mikie Honda is born


4/11/1947 shows dissolution of partnership for Kaiulani Market


8/11/1948 Daughter Regina Miyo Honda is born

 

11/09/1973 shows Reginald applying for Taxi license 


1/31/1988 Reginald passes 

Marjorie Mariko Honda

Marjorie was born about 1927

Marjorie graduated from Farrington High School


She worked for National Mortgage and Finance co.


On 3/18/1955 She married Edward Y Okasako 


Latest info shows Marjorie 98 yrs old and Edward 99 years old living in Gainesville Florida since at least 1975


2 Children are known: Mark Okasako and Eric Okasako

Paul Seigo Honda

Paul was born December 17th 1928 and passed February 24th 2009

Paul attended the University of Hawaii, Rutgers University New Brunswick, NJ and received his Dental Degree from School of Dental Medicine at the University of  Pennsylvania.


After graduation Paul worked for a year and a half at the Strong-Carter Dental clinic in Honolulu. 


In 1956 Paul entered the army as a captain and served in the Dental Corp until August of 1958

In December of 1958 Paul opened a dental office in the Wilder Food Center Bldg.


On December 28th 1965 Paul married Betty Hiroko Asahina


Paul  and Betty had one child named Ruth Shizuko Honda. 

Hubert Masuo Honda

Hubert was born 09/16/1932 passed 04/12/2017

Hubert married  Evelyn Sun Yung Chee on May 23rd 1959 in Honolulu


One known child: Lynda Honda born 3/23/61




Royden Masaji Honda

Royden was born 03/16/1934

Royden Married Helen E Nakayama on March 3rd 1956 in Los Angeles CA


Royden attended Kawananakoa Intermediate school and Farrington High School and in 1953 signed up with the army Technical School. Royden seemed from childhood to be technically minded and was in involved with several  technical patents with Smart Antennas throughout the years. For example in 2006  he was one of the inventors of the "Single and Multiband quarter wave resonator" which  listed him as residing in San Jose CA. Other residences listed were Spokane WA and Post Falls Idaho.

Doris Sae Honda

Doris was born born 11/29/1935

Doris Graduated from Farrington High School and the University of Hawaii.


Doris was on the Faculty of Stevenson Intermediate School teaching History


In late 1961 Doris married Harold Haruo Fujita


In 1965 Doris was one of a few teachers to be awarded the COE fellowships at the University of Hawaii


3 known Children: Scott Hayato Fujita born 8/24/63

                              Brooke Masato Fujita born 6/11/66

                              Reade Tatsuya Fujita born 1/25/68
